insurance does not cover it fully, and i do not want to remove the nail completely. i have already had it shortened on the sides and they still ingrow, during that i got hit with a bunch of extra costs the insurance didnt want to cover. My method involves no blood, no surgery, allows me to have a toenail to still protect my toe, very helpful if you drop something from the fridge on it or whatever else nails come in handy for.
I have an underlying issue that my toenails grow in a way that causes them to get thick and turn into the bedding. Its simple to understand, i have dug my own ingrown toenails out before and know a lot of people that would prefer to do that on the couch than see a doctor.
This drimmel thing is like $15 on amazon, i only have to worry about it for like 5 minutes every several months and it keeps me pain free.
I have personally found when they are a little thinner the flexibility is what prevents the ingrown nature. It has been working for close to 5 years.
Not everything needs to be addressed by a doctor, not everybody has the resources or availability of a podiatrist. It works for me and so far the only other responses have involved carving the toe up themselves, and I have never seen advice like mine online.
It works for me and has provided immediate relief to some bad ingrown nails once i got the maintenance schedule figured out for how fast my nails grow
Dude, if you didn't want other opinions and input, why the fuck did you post a question?
So, fine, keep doing what you're doing if you're happy with it.
