I used to work retail and was helping a college aged guy pick out some new headphones. He was deciding between some Beats and some Bose headphones. I literally asked him "do you want something that sounds good or looks good" and was amazed he actually said "looks good". So I reluctantly sold him the Beats.
Hah, I appreciate the honesty though ๐
Sometimes the headphones are just a public statement of "Don't talk to me please.", and the music is just secondary. In that case, the looks may win.
I mean, if your intent is to be ignored, why would you want the supposedly "cool" one, then? Seems antithetical, like they're just a douche who wants to look cool and use it as an excuse to ignore people they don't want to socialize with.
