Proton VPN doesn’t allow P2P file downloading (torrents) on its free version.

Yes, but it still works. So long as you don't overdo it, like someone who isn't new to this, it'll work just fine for a start.

I don't know how it work for you but not me. Are you sure you lock qbitorrent to the VPN only? Otherwise qbitorrent may just use you normal internet.
