It was extremely foreshadowed in S3E07, during the 3 Evil Invincibles comment “missing their Moms.” It'll be far more impacting either this next season, or much later.Comics spoiler
I understood that more as their moms deaths being a catalyst for their heel turn. I really hope they won't go this way - it would break my heart, and it would mean we won't get a bunch of my favorite comics scenes, namely Nolan and Debbie annoying everyone with their loud sex :D
