MODERATORS
I can say the same. I used to usually enjoy most of the topics and news I see. I don't anymore, but there's a really good reason why.
You're properly picking up on the fact that lots of us are really REALLY unhappy to see our democracy being dismantled around us and that the weakest of us are being preyed upon by the very government that is meant to protect them. This extends from legal asylum seekers, to our retirees getting roadblocks put in the way of their earned Social Security, to our Veterans being targeted for denial for the treatment of injuries they incurred defending our nation. Our rights, freedoms, and livelihoods are being eroded on a daily basis and our standing in the world went from "Begrudging respect" even from our worst enemies to "Full blown Clown Show"
I disagree with you here. The fact that reality is reflected here, even if it is negative, is a good thing. The alternative is a censored sanitized version where all the actions and Constitutional violations of the state are being hidden from us and we'd only discover the true decline of our nation when they finally come knocking on our own door far too late for us make our voices of opposition heard to alter the course we're currently on.
If you want full-on escapism, I hear reddit is letting Elon Musk ban people for saying disparaging things about him. They're also banning anyone that even suggests anything related to Luigi Mangioni. That sounds like a place where you won't hear anything negative only presenting a saccharine sweet version of reality instead. Good luck to you if you go that direction. I hope you don't leave here though. We're better together with reality than with our heads in the sand.
