We have these in maritime Canada as well but we spell it Donair
Its funny, in ontario we only have shawarma. Lots and lots of shawarma, but I'd never heard of doner until i went to europe.
There was a sick Donair joint in Roncevales up until a few years ago
Well...slightly North Americanized. The sauce is basically just sugar with some garlic and vinegar mixed in. :P
Both donairs and doners are tasty, though!
