I'd rather take a call than have to type on a godawful virtual keyboard to have a full conversation with a person.
If you are gonna force me to use SMS/RCS I'm gonna fuckin say "fuck it, I'd rather call."
If you can use fucking email or any kind of instant messenger, it's game on because at least I don't have to jump through fucking hoops to use those on my PC with a full keyboard.
I fucking loathe typing on a phone, and the more of I have to do, the more I loathe it. I love typing on a keyboard but most people are stuck in SMS/RCS world and often don't even have a computer of their own.
Yes, I'd rather take or make a fucking call.
There are multiple different ways to connect your phone to your computer to send/receive text messages on your computer.
I know, and I often use them, but they're a complete pain compared to using something native. KDE Connect breaks very often.
Have you tried speech to text on your phone? Is that easier for you? I use it. That's how I made this post.
Speech-to-text is cool and all (especially as a disability aid) but every company has enough data on me already without me voluntarily giving up my voice to them.

Another random suggestion, I recently got a PC keyboard that can pair to multiple Bluetooth devices.
Now that I can hit a button and switch to my phone, I no longer hate SMS quite so much
I also 3d printed a phone stand for my desk, which it turns out makes typing on it a lot nicer too
