Fucking preformative liberals, instead of attacking the systems of exploitation that harm the community they virtue signal for they focus on the temporarily manufactured villains.

[-] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 23 points 7 months ago

If you can't have everything, you'd prefer nothing? Isn't that the same logic that got us a second trump term?

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

No the logic that got us a second trump term is "we can move as far to the right as we want, and as long as we're second worst, people will have no choice but to vote for us."

[-] seven_phone@lemmy.world 7 points 7 months ago

No again, what got Trump elected was a complacency that the population was at heart clear thinking and aware of the exploits of the world.

[-] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

Incrementalists learn like they do anything else: they fucking don't.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Democrat complacency in their politicians gave us trump, as much as Hillary Clinton did.

[-] candy_colors@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

I mean, both of u are right

So... what?

In your ideal world nazi sites wouldn't be blocked?

What are you even arguing here?

There is no world in which refusing to use a site run by a nazi is a bad thing.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

I'm arguing liberals have the memory of a goldfish and will forget it the next time something else comes up. This is #resist 2.0, purely performative.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 7 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

Got it, there's no point in ever fighting them since we might not fight them at some unspecified point in the future, we should just all welcome and embrace Nazis. Thanks for letting us know how to move forward.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

They are not fighting anything, if they were they would have fought it from the beginning instead of accepting small doses of fascism.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago

Got it, everyone just give up and walk willingly into the camps. Thanks for letting us know how to move forward.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

We are currently living in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World where even the mention of breaking free from the chains is met with resistance. Liberals would rather dose their Soma than allow meaningful change to happen.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Yes, we already established that you think everyone should give up and walk willingly into the camps. Where do we meet you?

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

No one said give up anything, liberals are fighting the wrong things. They fight manufactured villains instead of the system that created them. They are repeating 2016 all over

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

You literally said this:

I’m arguing liberals have the memory of a goldfish and will forget it the next time something else comes up. This is #resist 2.0, purely performative.

Sure as hell sounds like give up and stop fighting to me. If not, what would you suggest people do other than berate random strangers on the internet? Because I can tell that's something you're way into, but I do not see what it helps anything other than boosting your own ego.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Because it is performative, they are incapable of connecting the dots on multiple issues because they never stay connected long enough to get the larger picture. They focus on small issues like this and ignore the core of this problems, either willingly or ignorantly.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Again: what would you suggest people do other than berate random strangers on the internet?

It's okay, I know you won't actually answer. People like you never do.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

You confuse berating with telling someone where they went wrong and how to fix it.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago
[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

You dont have a point because you feel that what you are doing is correct method. That arrogant hubris is why we now have open Nazis in power

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

You are right. Asking the person who says that they are not suggesting people give up what they should do instead of giving up is what I feel is the correct method.

But feel free at any time to say what people should do if not either give up or berate people on the internet.

I know you won't because it's clear you have no idea.

[-] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 6 points 7 months ago

Still better than nothing. I don't see how complaining about a good thing gets us anywhere. And also it screams bad mental health. You ok, bro?
