@NineMileTower@lemmy.world you were looking for something like this IIRC
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing. I don't understand why someone on a social media website would question you for sharing content with another user on a social media website. Again, thank you. This is what I needed.
Happy to help!
If you want to share something with someone, share it with them. Tagging them instead of sharing the content in a normal way spams the whole Lemmy discussion with irrelevant comments.
I'm appreciative of him tagging me. If you don't like it, downvote and move on. You aren't contributing to anything, you are just being controlling and negative.
It was the first comment of the thread, to encourage discussion. If there's something Lemmy could use more of, it's a bit more discussion rather than fewer comments
Very abnormal but strictly curious user here. What if I'm not very tech-savvy and can't read your mind when it comes to what you meant by 'sharing the content in a normal way'? I'm guessing you meant some type of direct message, but I thought there was somewhat of a divide over some instances allowing lemmy DMs and some which force users to DM via matrix protocol(element formerly riot iirc). The comment will find it's way to the bottom naturally over time(where all spam gets to eventually--thusly what's the point of having comment voting systems to begin with?)
That communities can be moderated either through voting or moderation is no excuse to spam them because you're too lazy to make a DM. How your instance wants to handle DMing is a whole separate matter.
'Don't be lazy' is a non-answer to the very few questions I brought up, but I appreciate your opinionated input I guess :D
