The EU’s refusal to challenge Ukraine on the shutdown of the pipeline — all while sending tens of billions to the country — is simple the latest example of how EU policy undermines the fundamental interests of its member states.

Well, it wasn't Ukraine's idea to be invaded and as Russia is attacking the EU since over a decade, it's more or less just eating the shit end of its own decisions to be on Russia's tit.
The EU should have moved much earlier against Russia's aggressive actions and take the hint, that they aren't a respectable partner

Now Russia has already cost the EU a member, thanks to Brexit and Russia's misinformation campaigns, and Russia has been successful in running a split through society, by financing and supporting radical groups.
