Never read the novel, but I saw the film. It was okay, sort of an Australian Red Dawn. My only issue with it is that it had a terrible scene jammed into it where a character tells another one reading a different dystopian book that the novel is generally better than the movie.

Here's the incredibly ham-fisted dialogue.

Ellie Linton: Good book?
Corrie Mackenzie: Better than the movie.
Ellie Linton: Yeah, books usually are.

I get it. Read the novel after watching the film even if I didn't like the film. You don't have to tell it to me in the movie.

Like I said, it wasn't bad otherwise.
