The profile picture of the scammed guy is on point, that's something Reese would do, Malcom would complain but accept it after getting a cut. Lois would get them, ground them, but keep the scam on keeping the money herself.

At the end, we learn that Dewey knew it was scam all along, but he was getting the money from his dad and knew Lois was using it for paying for the good ketchup and mayo brand.
