Hey, Fellow Hunters,

I’m currently looking for a few more moderators to help out with this community.

I created this community as a space for fans of the Supernatural TV series to talk lore, characters, episodes, ships, memes, theories, and everything in between — from Season 1 road trips to the finale (yes, even that finale).

It’s been great seeing folks join in, but I’m also juggling mod duties across a bunch of other communities and instances, as well as declining mental health, and I could really use some backup here.

If you’ve got love for the Winchester brothers, Castiel, the bunker, or just want to help keep this space safe and active, I’d love to have you join as a mod.

No experience needed — just some passion and a willingness to check in and help out now and then.

Comment below if you're interested!

Carry on, – Teknevra

For those unfamiliar with what I mean, we all know that pudding is jiggly, like some…other…things.

That was Dean’s joke.

But if you watch a lot of British telly like me, or you’ve seen those Harry Potter memes about that one line from Luna, you’ll know that in Great Britain, the word pudding has a slightly different meaning.

It means dessert.

Not much context behind this question tbh.

Me and my friends were just talking about this and NOW I'm sorta curious to know what other people think.

Also, featuring this cool fanart that I found!!

Overuse of phrases (literature.cafe)

The writers of Supernatural obviously have an affinity for repetitional words/actions, which I can get behind at times (especially if it’s in the name of character solidification/development). HOWEVER, I am growing to despise the phrase “things that go bump in the night.” Holy shit could y’all not think of any synonyms?! Anyways, does that piss y’all off or is it just me?

...how underwhelming both of them are as hunters.

I mean, they are the titular protagonists that can kill almost anything with enough research, ingredients, and bravery to face insanely overpowered threats head on. The greatest hunters in the world, the vessels for the two most powerful archangels, and killers of all things that go bump in the night and bite your ass off. But half of that is also the stupidity of their enemies and the sheer amount of luck and glaring plot armour involved.

They aren't proactive in their approach to hunting at all. They don't prepare before hand and stumble into things head first.

I mean a few things couldve been done at the very least.

•1. Iron and Silver rings. Hell even just simple rings embedded with rock salt as gems. A few of those in their fingers and almost half of everything they face in the filler monster of the week episodes are either revealed from the get go or killed in most cases.

•2. Tranquilizer Gun and Darts. These babies would be deadly if loaded with the right liquids for the jobs. Deadman's Blood for Vamps, Borax for the Leviathans, Silver Nitrate for Wolves and Shifters, and even a simple solution Salt dissolved in Holy Water for Demons and Hellhounds and many more.

•3. Permanent Paint Devil Traps layered in Epoxy. I think we can all agree that devil traps made using simple paint, chalk, and almost everything else that's easily erase with steps or dripping water is simply asking the demon trapped to kill you. Period.

•4. Inlayed, Permanent Paint Wardings all over Houses and Cars. Especially those Wardings used by castiel on the boys in their bones and that pretty women of letters lady in the ww2 submarine.

•5. Using Shapeshifters to control narrative around dead bodies. Because why not? Force a shifter to shift into you, then kill it, then have it stashed around in case you need to use a disappearing act from everything.

And so much more that I am too tired and uncreative to imagine.

...Anyway, I love the series and have rewatched it a few times over the last few years, but still some things just stick out as missed opportunities to show how smart Sam and Dean could've been presented as

The original Death was one of the best and most memorable characters in the series! His indifferent posture and apathetic expression made the character very intimidating and imposing; the most powerless and intimidating in the series in my opinion! (After him comes the alternative Miguel.)

A character who was on the same level as God, who called Lucifer: "a spoiled, tantrum child." and saw the apocalypse as insignificant!

However...they decided to remove the character and the actor, and add another death that has no charisma or grace whatsoever! Bilie's main problem... is that she creates an emotional bond with situations, which is not consistent with death! Furthermore, she is very active in the story.

The main quality of the original Death is that she had a secondary role: her influence was more indirect and her appearances were punctual. Whenever it appeared, the original death performed great feats, for example: taking Sam's soul from the cage and being able to transfer/remove the mark of Cain.

However, Bille just doesn't have any great achievements... as she showed fear in some situations; he was afraid of God and even of the archangel Michael....I think that's very bad!

J2 panel ChiCon 2025 - last question - burning a set

During the last question at ChiCon 2025, Jensen says one of the hardest episodes to film was the pilot.

It's been discussed by the cast before that they used practical effects for the Jess death scene. They built a building in a parking lot and set it on fire with Jared inside it. They didn't even put a safety person in the room or the boys in protective gear.

Apparently, the building burned much quicker than they anticipated. Jensen told Jared during the con - apparently for the first time ever - that he actually ran inside to get Jared before the assistant director queued him because he decided the fire was spreading way too fast and he needed to get Jared out.

Jared's hair got singed even with Jensen jumping in to grab him early. This was the first episode they ever filmed together.

As Jensen says in the video linked at the top this post;

"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?!?!?!?"

From how many times both Sam and Dean cut their arms like this for a ritual, or for sigils, or for proving they're human they should have scars 😭😭 that's probably looking too much into it, but I think its funny that they do this so often yet dont have any scarring. They dont have any scars AT ALL actually

I really wish we got to see more of Claire who had forgiven Cass.

Supernatural wholesome moments are also so few and far between.

I loved this scene because Dean got to continue his Big Brother relationship with Claire but also we got a glimpse at the warm fuzzy side of Claire who had been through so much.

She was such a great character and watching Cass watch her go off sadly was so heartbreaking.

I could watch a whole show about Castiel and Claire.

"The Monster at the End of This Book" Season 4, Episode 18

This is one of the funniest sam moments. It's even funnier after getting to the later seasons where we know the truth about Chuck lol

Now don't get me wrong, Crowley is still my favorite Supernatural character of all time. His power doesn't affects my love for him.

But...I feel like he should've portrayed a bit stronger than he was, at least when he became King Of The Hell. I know his character revolves around brains instead of strength during his fight scenes, but i still think he's a bit underpowered for someone who's King Of The Hell after all. Abaddon hunting Crowley made me think about this.

I'm not saying he should casually beat beings like Lucifer or Archangels. I feel like it would be better if he was comparable to Azazel or other Princes Of Hel or slightly weakerl in power even if he was slightly weaker when he became The King.

I might be mistaking, it's been 4 years since i watched the show and dropped at season 14.

We get very little lore about the horsemen overall. We know they each have a ring that seems to grant their power, though death seems more capable without his ring than the others. They aren't demons, as Famine tells Sam his powers won't affect him at all.

Some seem to be related (perhaps all except Death) as Pestilence refers to War and Famine as his brothers. They also don't seem to be angels of any flavor just based on their weaknesses and strengths.

As far as we know none of them ever died, we know they are weakened and disappear when their rings are cut off but Demon Brady basically confirms War and Famine are around, though weakened and useless.

Are War, Famine, and Pestilence related to Death? We know Death is a primordial force, existing as long as God, perhaps longer, were the other horsemen there? They seem more... human motivated or downright evil. Death is the only one Lucifer coerced, the rest seem to be working willingly with the devil.

What do we think they are?

So, we know the Styne family's actual name is Frankenstein. I'm just curious-do you think the show made them related to the actual Dr. Victor Frankenstein?

Or the Monster?

(Yeah, I don't wanna be that guy, but the Monster you're thinking of was actually never given a name.)

Yes, it's probably a dumb unimportant question to ask, but I don't know-it's one of those questions that just makes me curious.

You could say yes to Victor, since there all clearly human (atleast sorta), but seeing as they take more traits from the Monster, and since the show doesn't really care about accurate portrayal, it wouldn't surprise me if they said they were actually related to the Monster itself.

Like why can't they just say it's super secret like Area 51?

That would be believable, even in this reality because the government hides a lot from the public.

What would be your strategy to take down our boys? Personally I’d do everything in my power to keep them separate.

They have a tendency to gang up on people in a fight. I’d ward the area against angels to prevent castiel from getting involved.

And most importantly I wouldn’t leave a body count to bring them looking for me working a case. I’m not sure I’d try the hostage maneuver they seem to always find a way out of it.

How would yall handle it?

I've seen a handful of episodes no from season 1, 5 and 6 because their synopsises stuck out to me (like the transported to the real world ep), I kinda like the vibe of the latter two seasons more than the first season (maybe because it feels so early 2000s to me 😅)

Having waited so long to watch it, I've come across a lot of the spoilers and know how the show ends.

However, I'd like to know what you guys liked or looked forward to when watching for the first time and if there's anything I should know that'll help me better understand later on!
