Welcome to the official Lemmy.world community for requesting dead or abandoned communities on Lemmy.world.

Rules for Requests

1. You can only request communities homed on Lemmy.world, we are not able to grant community requests for remote communities. If a community you want isn't on Lemmy.world your best bet is to message the instance admins those communities are homed on or the mods of those communities.

2. The requests must be compliant with Lemmy.world's Terms of Service, requests for communities which aren't will be denied, and additionally if the community is already in breach of our terms it will be removed and no longer up for requests.

3. Anyone can request a community but those on remote instances must have a well aged account, or post/comment history, or both so we know you aren't a spammer or bad-faith actor. Additionally if you are a remote user we will need to add one of our team members as the owner of the community since we can't transfer it to you but we will allow you to do your thing with your community and won't interfere.

4. In order to request a community it will need to be abandoned, active communities are ineligible for request. To be considered abandoned the community's mods must be inactive or unable to mod anymore (i.e. if they are banned). We will message community mods before granting requests to let them know their community was requested.

5. Please only request one community every 14 days, doing it too much becomes spammy. Also in addition try not to request too many communities in total.

6. This is Lemmy.world Community Request please be polite when making requests, team members fulfill requests in their free time. Rude or demanding requests may be denied.

Guidelines

To request a community please create a post in the community with the title: Requesting Community [Community Name]
With community name being the Lemmy.world community you want to request. In the post body please include a link to the community you are requesting, as well as a short explanation of what you plan on doing with the community.

Additionally if the community or your plans are NSFW in nature the most must be marked as NSFW.
