Street Fighter One M.U.G.E.N Remake.

Another mugen Street Fighter game. This time, it is a remake of original very first Street Fighter game, simply called Street Fighter 1, that is also known in home ports as Fighting Street.

Originally, when original game was released back in the days by Capcom, it was literally broken and unplayable. Fighting system was unresponsive, controls were uncomfortable and the game itself didn't had any character to play as. You could only play as Ryu in 1 Player mode, and if you play in 2 players mode, then you could play as Ken, and that's it. And the soundtrack... well, most of it was just a mess of the sounds, that could make your ears bleed.

And so now, after many years, fans decided to bring back very first Street Fighter game, using mugen engine, but they decided to fix everything that was broken. And thus we have this here. A, almost perfect, remake of original Street Fighter 1 from the arcade days, but for the PC with everything been fixed. Fighting system is now feel to that of Street Fighter 2. Controls are now responsive and uses 4 buttons control + movement buttons. And most importantly, you can now play as all of the Street Fighter 1 characters in many different game modes! Each characters also has now two super moves, that uses a super metter, similar to that from Super Street Fighter 2.

But what are the playable characters? Well, it is Ryu, Ken, Retsu, Geki, Lee, Gen, Joe, Mike, Birdie, Eagle, Adon, Sagat and a bonus guest character Cody from Final Fight game. The stages are the same from original game too, including one new for Cody.

The soundtrack got fixed too. The game now uses a PC Engine CD soundtrack, that sounds a lot better, than that mess from original arcade version. So now, your ears will be in full comfort, as you listening to the updated soundtrack.

The only problem that this game, probably has, is it's AI that becomes very anoying at the end. But, i managed to beat this game as Ryu one time, an a key to beating it is been agressive towards AI and, most importantly, develope your own strategy and combos that you gonna use against it. But yeah, if you never played fighting games, or if you are not very experienced fighting games player, then you gonna have troubles, fighting against AI in this game.

So yeah, if you ever wanted a improved and fixed original Street Fighter 1 game, then here it is. It is free, so grab it and go have fun.

Released September 3rd from developer Hey! Kookaburra, it has a Native Linux version. No current Steam Deck rating from Valve, but I can assure you it works perfectly. It's a local multiplayer splat-fest, where you each control a little cleaning robot. The bots have gone rogue though, and instead of cleaning up you're spreading paint everywhere as quickly as you possibly can.

It's a competitive game for up to 4 players (with AI bots available), where each player has a different colour, with you individually controlling a little bot to drive around the little arenas and cover them in your colour. So it's a bit like a mini Splatoon but with robot vacuums and small arenas.

Shamogu 1.0.0 (2025-09-18)

Gameplay
Gameplay

Shamanic Mountain Guardian (Shamogu) is a coffee-break roguelike game with a focus on tactical movement and careful timing of totemic spirit invocation and comestible consumption. Visibility and noise stealth mechanics also play an important role.

v1.0.0 2025-09-18

New content:

  • New secondary spirit: Fire Salamander. It features a fire retreat ability that makes the player retreat up to two tiles while leaving a fire cloud on the previous position, as long as there's room for the retreat. The new spirit also confers +1 attack and a chance of burning foes on hit (like phoenixes do) and the upgraded version confers fire resistance (delayed burning). As a drawback, it inflicts bad hearing on the player, making it difficult to hear creep and wing-flapping noises. If the Fire Salamander is combined with the Barking Hound spirit, hearing becomes normal again (neither good nor bad). Fire Salamander is hence a spirit that offers very good offense capabilities and some mobility, but it can impair stealth tactics.
  • New unique monster: walking mushroom. It's less sturdy than a walking tree but releases lignifying spores on sight from afar, affecting other monsters too. Also, its melee hits are confusing.
  • New unique monster: noisy imp. It performs music just for the player, attracting nearby monsters. It avoids fighting similarly to afraid monsters.
  • New special monster: warping wraith. Its hits teleport the player away. It may be sent by the dungeon to investigate and protect the portal after you use a warping menhir.
New portal guardian monster: blazing golem. A sturdy magical golem that explodes on death. May occasionally guard non-portal vaults, too.
  • New totem guardian monster: totem wasp. Rampaging and venomous wasps that like to use totems as their nest.
New kind of static item: runic trap. They represent visible traps that are triggered when stepped on by the player or a monster. Wandering monsters avoid traps, but hunting ones do not. Effects depend on the kind of rune. Placement is designed so that there's always at least one path that avoids traps.
  • New static empty totem item on map levels without a regular totem. Its purpose is to make it so the player doesn't feel the need to explore all the map corners on those maps (feature suggested by @mlochbaum in issue #1). Normal totems now become empty totems once you've picked their spirit.
  • New Clarity status effect, provided by “clarity leaves”. It protects against Confusion, Daze, and unvoluntary Berserk. It can now be used as a way to exit Berserk early with extra HP (healing applied after bonus is removed). Also, Clarity makes you sense monsters now for several turns, but in a shorter range (2 times view range, instead of 3).
  • New kind of player's knowledge about terrain: “unknown passable terrain”. Hearing footsteps and Clarity provide clues about terrain passability, so optimal play could encourage boringly memorizing (or even writing down) that information. Revealing the terrain and anything it contains would have solved the issue, but it would have been unintuitive from an immersion perspective. The new “unknown passable terrain”, shown as uncolored footsteps, solves the issue without having to leak any extra information.

COLORMUSE offers you a relentless five minutes of color-swapping action as you try not to get killed by hostile cellos. Absorbing shots sees you continually reassessing the field to find the best route to safety, and since this is also tied to the strength of your own shots (absorbing like-colored bullets makes you stronger), it encourages you to put yourself in danger at the same time. This creates a deadly tightrope to walk that makes the game a lot of fun to play while also incredibly tense.
