This question probably relates to DeltaChat itself and not ArcaneChat specifically, but why not, I use Arcane so decided to just ask here.
This post is probably just general questions, but I couldn't think of a better title, sorry.
So, my only issue with Delta/Arcane is the same as with most modern software: I lack basic understanding. I know how to use it, it tries to be very user friendly and everything "just works", so there's no need to really know much about the app, as long as you don't need something that doesn't work as you want. Once this happens, you realize you just have no idea of how it works.
My current understanding is that Delta/Arcane are some kind of email clients (like thunderbird) but with a focus on chatting (so you don't have features like folder management, but instead have a nice to use conversation UI instead). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
When I test the app, for example install it to two devices and send a message from one to another, it works: a new chat appears with the message. It can also be seen as a regular email if you also use an email client, like thunderbird. I think it always lands in "INBOX/DeltaChat" folder. I'm not sure how this happens, does DeltaChat monitor for new emails and moves them into that folder, or there's somehow a way to include "this mail should land in this folder" instruction so that mail server itself does this.
However when someone sends me a "regular" email, for example from thunderbird (and not through DeltaChat) it comes as a regular email in my INBOX folder and of course I don't see it as a chat in my ArcaneChat app.
If we truly treat Delta/Arcane as a universal IM replacement, for example if I want to uninstall every IM (whatsapp, telegram) from my devices and when someone wants to contact me, I want to just give them my email and ask to send an email, if I don't want to be explaining them what DeltaChat is, I expect such emails to appear in my ArcaneChat app. How would I achieve this? Is there a way to manage what appears as a chat and what doesn't? I guess I wouldn't ask those questions if I understood the mechanism behind it: how DeltaChat messages are different from regular emails, how do they appear in DeltaChat folder etc.
Please, I need some understanding and not just "press this button" type of instructions.
