Nice achievement! Needless to say, the user base needs to grow further to compete with other social media

And to think you thought you needed a John Oliver AMA. John Oliver don't have anything on me.

"Barbie", only in theaters July 21st.

Beehaw admins shot themselves in the foot, it was supposed to be the no.1 by now but they decided to persecute the left instead.

[-] MeatAndSarcasmGuy@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

I actually quite like having Beehaw being proactive about their users' safety/ mental well-being.

I wound up making a second account on Lemmy.world so I can see what's going on in the larger Lemmy community, but I also appreciate being able to browse and post in a safer environment. I just wish the Lemmy back-end had more nuanced federation/ defederation options and better mod tools so I didn't have to make a second account to browse the extended Lemmy community.

Why is kbin never included in these breakdowns? Is it not "formally" considered lemmy or something of that sort?

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Kbin is different software that accesses the same infrastructure. Kbin prime can interact with Lemmy, but Lemmy people can't interact with kbin (yet).

Hey that's me!

Now I want to know how many of this population did not use a 3rd-Party reddit app.

[-] Gullible@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Increased population in lemmy.world is attributable to Redditisfun directly linking to this instance with its dying notification. Other instances may have vastly different compositions as a result.

it is much more when you look at the entire Threadiverse, e.g all Lemmy and Kbin instances combined, it is even more, at 134.000+ active users (created accounts are inflated due to people spamming bot accounts)

Does anyone know where I can find that bot that takes all my subs for me, an allows me to import them into a new account? I really dig reddthat, however there have been a few scares already, and I'd love to have a core backup so if I do move around it's easily set up.
