...but I don't want to get rid of it! Been using RIF since 2011 and it'd feel so weird to take it off my home screen. I tried the Reddit app but it pollutes the front page with so much unnecessary shit that it becomes a chore to browse. Liking the look of Lemmy so far though.

The ring app icon looks similar to rif (blue background red dot so I end up absent mindedly press that one.

I did this with apollo a few times, but changed the icon to reset my eye/muscle memory. Going to leave it for a while during the mourning period

It still works - sort of. I can browse reddit without signing in. So I haven't yet deleted it yet. I'm planning to install a vanced version over the coming weekend. Hopefully that will work, I've never done anything like it before.

Nope.

Moved it out of my folder at the start of the blackout and opened it a few times for the modcoord updates.

I still have it for novelty reasons but I have been on Kbin and Lemmy since those few weeks.

Lol yeah, every morning.

[-] TheThirdStrike@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Nope.

I launched it once on July first and then deleted it. No reason it keep a non-functional app installed.

Had a lot of fun with RIF, but all good things must come to and end.

I hope KIF comes out someday.

Revanced manager can make it work again with a little effort on your part. I did it with Sync for reddit, but I still don't use reddit as much as before. It just doesn't very feel good anymore, so I just occasionally browse reddit through Sync now. Looking forward to Sync for Lemmy!

No, I hid mine before the protest began. I'd move my lemmy app to the place RIF was in, but I haven't found one that actually works on both my (old) phone and my instance.

Edit: found one that works.

I keep doing this with Apollo. I'm waiting for the Artemis to get a beta release to replace its spot on my home screen.

Apollo for me, but yes. I don't have the heart to delete it, but I have opened it a couple of times though habit and muscle memory alone!

I haven't had that problem. I uninstalled RIF when they announced the changes. I realized I didn't have the premium of RIF, so I bought that while I was at it. I have ended up on Reddit at times just checking in on the API ruckus specifically. However, Reddit as a corporation seems to have a proclivity for beef and thus has continued to convey the ruckus.

[-] EnigmaNL@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

I removed it for that reason. There's still an empty spot where the RIF icon used to be which I still tap sometimes :(

I did until yesterday. I've enjoyed my experience here and am looking forward to seeing it grow more. As much as the whole situation has pissed me off, it's exciting to be a part of a new community. Thanks for the 10 great years rif.

[-] anteaters@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

I deleted it and filled that hole on my home screen with wefwef for now.

[-] GreatPretender@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I put the app into a box with lemmy apps and it breaks my heart. It's an app I have used countlessly many times.

[-] greenyenergy@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I'm still using it. When Reddit blocks access or you can't view NSFW subs I'll delete it.

[-] Badass_panda@lemmy.fmhy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Just removed sync and added connect to the same spot today ... But when sync for Lemmy shows up, I'm gonna use that
