Poor is a fucking understatement

[-] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

And not even half will agree with that

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

poorest billionaire I know.

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 52 points 2 days ago

These headlines are always so depressing. "Nearly half?" Jesus Christ - on what list is Trump not in the bottom few, if not the absolute worst?

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

That look when you realize you live in an ignorant shit hole country of hate filled racists.

[-] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

It makes you realize that maybe this country actually isn't even worth being a part of or supporting. Maybe it might even be worth it to move against it.

And what's really fucked is we know that the same games they are playing are being tried in Europe and other 1st worlds... So we know it's an entity of evil beyond just America. And really it is genuine humanity vs mans ego. 1st world cultures are owned. Humans shouldn't be owned.

Not really... I think it's bigger than politics... And when it's bigger than politics... When political discourse doesn't matter anymore... Well...

...people need to find true heart and soul and make a sacrifice for honest humanity by any means necessary. I guess...

The real meaning of making sacrifices for the greater good. ...not just some military slogan to attain youth to kill for someone else's agendas. The real army of genuine humans shouldn't have any soldiers that needed manipulation for their duty. The real soldiers will fight for free and never claim to be a part of a side left or right, labor or liberal.

We know nations are tools now, for the wealthy leaders of the business and organizations. We know that war isn't going to be like the history of the past.

well hard to beat Andrew Jackson as the worst

[-] jacksilver@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Yeah, but it was about being a poor president, not the worst.

I mean, I'm pretty sure Biden is going to go down in history as a poor president simply for not doing enough, but Trump has fumbled so many things that it's obvious (even if you agree with his policies) that history won't remember him as a good president.

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

Yeah, he was pretty destructive. I think Trump is in the running though.

[-] ComradeRachel 5 points 1 day ago

Honestly I don’t think many Americans even know what is going on in the world. If you are someone who only gets their news from Fox or other right learning media then you are being told lies and propaganda.

It does seem about half of the USA is in their own fictional bubble where Trump is saving them from scary brown people or something.

It’s sad it really is.

[-] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

It would be "sad" if it was happenstance; the fact that it was orchestrated by Murdoch and others - that half the country has been successfully manipulated by bullshit propaganda - makes it infuriating.

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

You should talk to them on how they think Europeans live.

The vast majority of Americans have never left The Greatest Country in the World ™.

[-] TacoButtPlug@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago

nearly half lmao

[-] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 21 points 2 days ago

Less than half.

[-] Almacca@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

And the rest think he's an unmitigated disaster, right?

[-] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

The US hasn’t been a country anyone should treat as a serious entity since 2024-11-05, and won’t be again until they can prove their ability to hold another legitimate election.

Right now it’s a coin flip as to whether I’ll see that within my lifetime.

[-] OshaqHennessey@midwest.social 3 points 1 day ago

That is a disappointingly low number

[-] Bwaz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

He'd have to improve astronomically just to get to the level of "poor".

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

That's because the other half understand that he's actually rich.

[-] Entertainmeonly 5 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Rich? In what? He's not even famous. Everyone keeps saying he's such a famous president. The word they should be using is infamous. He's known for being a failed, well, everything. Thats infamy not fame. Is this like that? You say "Rich" but are you speaking about money?

[-] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

How do you lose at running a casino? That contradicts math.

[-] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

I said "he's rich". As in, he has a lot of money. As in, not "poor" as the poll implies.

[-] Entertainmeonly 1 points 2 days ago
[-] Glytch@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

The writer implies. The reader infers.

[-] Entertainmeonly 1 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Huh? Oh, sorry. I wasn't correcting you. Just agreeing.

Edit: haha not same person 😅

[-] 6stringringer@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

Ima going to sleep with such a disheartening number of people saying poor. Gonna take a stab and stay 75%would be just fine seeing is droopy drawers hauled off.
