Mala Petaka is a 2D Pixel Art Shooter-inspired sci-fi FPS runs on GZDoom. You play as 'Petaka', an angry amnesiac that's on a journey to revive his memory by exploring multiple universes through warp portal technology. His journey won't be easy because he'll encounter many one-eyed aliens and annoying drones that'll attack him.

Gameplay Features

  • Various weapons available: fists, pistol, shotgun, machine gun, grenade launcher, plasma rifle and more!

  • All weapons have alternate fire

  • Kill enemies with Fist Barrage by pressing one key to gain health and armor bonuses!

  • 20+ enemy types!

  • Useful powerups like Time Freeze, Rampage, God Mode

  • Colourful NES-like cartoony graphics

  • 8bit / Chiptune SFX & BGM by Indonesian Chiptunes veterans like Remedmatika, Shakaboyd, Son of a Bit, and more!

  • 3 difficulty modes for player to choose: Easy, Medium, Hard

  • You start at the Hub map that let you choose the level you want to beat first via warp portals

A community about boomer shooters, a type of old-school FPS games before Half-Life revolutionized the genre. Boomer shooters have emphasis on shooting and sometimes traversing mechanics, are light or devoid of cutscenes, and the fun of making things go boom takes precedence over story. The name originates from a tongue in cheek description of the 2018 game Dusk and since stuck as a shorthand for the type of FPS.
