I'm leery of most romantic gestures now because it turns out some of them are just self-serving narcissism so they feel good about themselves for performing them, but honestly trying to cheer someone up with a nice dinner and a peaceful evening is really heartfelt and says, I can't fix this for you but I can do this much and try to help you have a better day and show you I care about you.

Maturing in order to be a better person and partner? It takes so long, it's annoying because you have to face your own shortcomings, it's arduous because it doesn't come naturally to you, it's hurtful because you have to accept you have been fucking up for ages and God knows who else has suffered because of this trait... but it's worth it, because your better half requires it.

Accepting someone exactly as they are.

I also don't have a "most". I can think of many, but I'm stumped at picking "most".

I'm a sucker for unexpected long distance showing up at your door in a time of need, but it's HEAVILY dependent on context so it's not exactly practical or even always appreciated.
