The bootlicking on that post (in a PIRACY sub nonetheless) is wild. Lots of "you don't understand, Reddit is a COMPANY! 😭" I've peeked in on Reddit a bit and I've been seeing those kinds of "won't somebody think of the shaaaareholdersss and adminss" comments on a few posts related to the protest. Things like this insightful little nugget:
I wonder how many of those are Reddit employees and bots? They can't all be u/spez alts, can they?
Oh and this is fun too, did you know that we're all liTeRaLlY extremists over here?
Guess Reddit is going to be taken over by alt-right trolls too.
Edit: Still figuring out how the formatting works over here.
Would be fabulous if the only users left on reddit were the alt-right nutters.
Reddit becoming voat is not on my bingo card but stranger things have happened this year...
Reddit would be thrilled by that, especially Spez; he'll need some willing slaves for his post-apocalyptic dreams to come true, and goddamn if those rightoids wouldn't be thrilled to lick his boots and make his meals.
It's already going down that road. Many of the subreddits have already become either a strongly neoliberal (r/news, r/politics, r/whitepeopletwitter) or strongly neoconservative (r/libertarian, r/guns) echo chamber courtesy of dogpiling, astroturfing, and mod replacements.
