Purchased one of these to give to my friend's dog, but it kinda came out of the store with these black hairs(?) and some muddy(?) parts. Didn't find anything on the internet on which products should I use and how do I clean one of these, so...

Who cares what the owner thinks? It's for the dog, and the dog isn't going to care about a little hair.

The owner gets to decide whether OP's presents go through to the dog, and in the extreme case whether to continue being friends with OP.

A dog's owner is their guardian. It's important to get their buy in if you want to give their dog something. This is perfectly reasonable.

Well IMO it's prudish and petty to turn down a toy for your dog because you don't like that it has a hair on it. But I understand what you're getting at.
