A memorial for the front page of the internet. If you have left reddit or is considering leaving then this community is for you.
There’s also a blog documenting the rise and fall of reddit as well as news and thoughts on the whole issue.
It serves as an archive for posts and topics in case reddit decides to delete anti-reddit posts within its platform.

Yup. I know the feeling. I was two weeks shy of 15 years on the site. Banned for a metaphor.
I actually stayed logged in and deleted every thing I posted that wasn't archived, even as the site kept kicking me out and refusing to load my profile pages..
Thankfully I'm a bit of a dumpster diver for computers and have a stack of old laptops that had active Reddit logins on them, so I switched up machines and took an entire evening and deleted everything I could.
Then I tried to delete the account and send along a "so long and thanks for the fish.." letter with it.. and it refused to process the account deletion and the next morning I found an automated response saying it wasn't computer generated and they weren't going to reinstate my account in spite of the appeal.. which I DID NOT send.
So yeah, it's being run with rage-bait bots now.
They're bouncing people and not deleting the accounts - likely to game the user base numbers for the investors.
Very fucked up.
But hey! Welcome to Lemmy - it's delightful here - and don't hesitate to post!
Are you me? I mean, I don't dumpster dive computers, but I nrver throw them out. I have a tech closet.
And got banned 2 years ago.
