They look great! My wife used to do a lot of amigurumi and I still remember how frustrated she was the first time she tried to do a sphere. It seems simple enough, but small asymmetries are much more noticeable in something simple like that compared to a more complex shape like a plush animal or doll.
I feel her pain. I tried to freehand a lil ball for a cat toy once and it turned into a "strawberry" 😅
There is no way you could have known, but I laughed at this turn of phrase. She doesn't really crochet much anymore because it was hurting her wrists. So, she mainly knits now. Well...really she spends most of her time dyeing yarn (she is an indie dyer) and then knits samples on the side.
I'm sorry to hear that, but what she's doing now sounds so sick! I love the idea of indie dyed yarn 🥰
