These plans only work against targets that obey the rule of law.

I am pretty sure that Trump would have had that man killed in prison. In my books his dad did the right thing, fuck the optics.

I would prefer to have Mastodon stay out of the limelight because we might need it after they target BlueSky. Mastodon is safe from attacks by an incoming autocratic administration precisely because it is too small for them to give any fucks about.

No you need strong oversight. I saw from the inside how the Philadelphia school district squandered their funds on bullshit Apple laptops and computers that were never used, instead of the Linux desktops and kids were actually using daily. Chromebooks are just leasable ewaste.

I've been saying the same thing in multiple Lemmy posts and on Mastodon. Twitter and Reddit were both used by progressives to organize.

If was always about limiting the ability to organize using Twitter and Reddit. They want things to go differently in 2024, not because of any conservative political ideology even though most of them skew that way. But because they make more money when the monsters are in charge.

I use reddit mostly because it's a link aggregator for the non-gaming stuff that interests me. Apart from that it's Ars Technica, Slashdot, or Techmeme.
