A Transcendent Shrexperience

May we all be blessed enough to experience the joy of the Ideal Shrek Zone so we can bask in His oniony wisdom.

While we'll likely never know for sure, we're fairly certain from near death experiences that hearing is the last sense to go so clearly instead of antiquated traditions like reading the book of the dead, we need to start playing shrek.

Or playing the Audiobook of the Dead.

It became inevitable the moment Amazon bought Audible..

I feel like I have been in the Ideal Shrek Zone for years :(

Wasn’t that an implosion and therefore instantaneous?

[-] flyboy_146@lemmy.world 52 points 3 weeks ago

I think I read recently that they had dropped their weights something like 45 minutes before the implosion. Seemingly indicating that they knew something was wrong and were trying to resurface. 🤔

Either way, not enough for a full Shrek movie. 🤷🏼‍♀️ (Sorry if it's too soon)

They knew something was wrong for 45 entire minutes? Every new piece of information about that submersible awakens fresh nightmares, thank you.

[-] Zwiebel@feddit.org 37 points 3 weeks ago

Maybe it did ominous cracking noises during those 45 minutes

[-] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

Very likely.

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 3 points 3 weeks ago

It was much less than that, only a few seconds.

[-] nichtburningturtle@feddit.org 24 points 3 weeks ago

Yes, but that just increased the speed at which their IQ was dropping.

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 27 points 3 weeks ago

Except we now know the sub imploded, and they were killed instantly. Apparently they dropped ballast seconds before the implosion, so they must have seen or heard something.

Also, the US armed forces have a bunch of undersea microphones to listen for Russian subs, and they knew what had happened immediately, and told the crew on the support vessel.

Why am I suddenly experiencing the works of Shrekspear?

[-] dmention7@lemm.ee 23 points 3 weeks ago

This is a lie to make people feel better, rather than let them think they will die instantly, let them think for an hour and 30 mins they will calmly enjoy their final minutes listening to Mike Myers. Personally I'd rather go out to Wayne's World if it's going to be Mike Myers.

[-] TriflingToad@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago

dyeing instantly would be preferable imo

[-] Mycatiskai@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago

My preferred death would be instantaneous combustion. No need for a cremation later, just a one shot of death and decorporealization.

[-] Jolteon@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 weeks ago

My preferred death would be something so utterly absurd that people would talk about it for decades afterward.

[-] Paranomaly@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

So like the one jar guy?
