I personally blocked ml a long time ago and my experience is much better for it. Their moderation and userbase leave much to be desired. As far as nutomic, I would say it seems like hes not a good person from what I know, and especially this post.

Cant read the article due to paywall, but, nothing "went wrong" with skype, it was and has always been utter trash. Just having your username leaked was a security breach. Skype's only merit was it was the first easy to use video calling platform that combined text, audio and streaming in one.

Theres a reason why it was so easy to move my friends group off skype to discord right when discord launched, but I havent been able to convince that same group to move from discord.

I agree that someone conned deserves compassion. You got tricked into sending someone money? Im sorry, even if it was dumb of you, im angry at the scammer.

But when you get scammed and the person who scammed you says theyre using your money for atrocious hateful acts, say making someones existence illegal, and you double down and say "well actually theyre right let me send more money, " you do not have any sympathy from me.
