Already exists, idiots. Adding five more ways to do the same thing is fucking pointless unless you're trying to disenfranchise voters. If you ever want this to work, make passports free, and available solely by mail. Oh, that's not possible? Neither is it for many people to go and get one.

I have plenty of means and opportunity, and it's still difficult to renew a passport. At least, if you've moved.

They should be issued at birth and easily renewed.

I’m someone who would be without a paycheck if a shutdown happens, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let it happen this time right before the election.

One more thing for the GOP to take responsibility for just in time for early voting!

The maps in this article make the situation look sinister as fuck (because it is): https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/challenge-obtaining-voter-identification

In short, if you live outside a major city you could have a hard time aligning your schedule perfectly with the nearest ID-issuing office, and that's if you can afford the transportation and required documents to prove your identity.

If it was about verifying that votes were legitimate they shouldn't have a problem appropriating finding so that we go out to every single citizens house and ensure they are issued an ID that is to their standards (which they claim is citizenship). We know it's actually about ensuring that people who have a difficult time getting an id have a difficult time voting.

Edit. Whoops I spelled some thing wrong

It’s an election year. Let them shut it down and lose the legislature
