Is there a way to transfer data from one instance account to another? (lemm.ee)

Right now I love the current instance I’m on, and have trust that my instance will stick for long term. But, in the case that the instance gets shut down, is there a way for me to transfer my account data (followers and such) somewhere else (like Mastodon)? Or, is that not possible at the moment. I’m new to lemmy and figuring out what certain things i can do in the fediverse, and what insurance i have if my main instance crumbles.

lemmy for me rn has become an almost perfect replacement. only thing i can feature request is the ability to transfer my data to other instances when needed, in case my current one blows up.

other than that, this place is solid 👍🏼

if you are on iOS, use Memmy. it’s really close to Apollo functionality :)

there’s also many iOS clients in beta right now too

Jellyfin: An unfederated alternative to Plex, with some pros and cons. Very lightweight, customizable with plugins. Decent iOS and tvOS client from the devs.

Vaultwarden: Unofficial open-source fork of Bitwarden.

FreshRSS: Self hosted RSS + Atom reader, honestly the best way to read news ad free. I recommend using FreshRSS with lire if you’re on iOS.

I’m definitely looking into hosting PiHole down the line, and hopefully nextcloud once i get some more drives
