If your toddler replaces "why" with "can I play minecraft", it has probably expired (at least with regards to its job as a debugging tool) and you might consider getting a fresh one.
It saves space! Hard drives are expensive. Each whitespace is like... a whole byte! On Windows, a new line is two bytes!!
But that requires me to watch shorts to judge them... I don't know if that's worth it, to be honest.
