Money/resources.
It's not free. We pay using taxes. Instead of paying a middle man whose sole purpose is to make money, you have a government run service that isn't profit driven. Is it efficient? No. Is there a better alternative? Also probably no but I haven't heard of one. If there is one that is being used somewhere in the world and isn't something theoretical, I would love to learn about it.
I don't speak Spanish but I love the word "El sacapuntas" which sounds like a bad word but means pencil sharpener.
That's why I say "dub dub dub" it confuses people and I have to explain that it's www which is short for world wide web but I saved a little bit of time by saying dub dub dub......wait a minute......

As always with most things in our capitalist society, it's better for shareholders if general population injests microplastics than for them to spend money on products to prevent it. Capitalism only spends money on things that bring profit, not to make a world a better place. If while making that profit the world becomes a better place, that's a marketing win.

The crown prince thing is the official story but the more you look into it, the harder it gets to believe said story, hence the conspiracy theories. One of the rare cases where conspiracy theories may not be outlandish.

The dashboard has nothing to do with data collection. That happens internally with various chips and ecu. The data being sent to the company servers don't care about your dashboard, that's handled by a different chip that has 3g/4g connectivity. In fact, you can buy a fancy tool that plugs into your obd II port on one end and a laptop in the other see real time data about how various systems are performing and what's happening based on your driving.
