we can still see and interact with both. Ernest has not defederated with them at this time so we should have few issues. As a community on this instance we need to use this platform in good faith to assure we arent banned/defederated with

Best advice is not to expose it publicly.
If you need access outside your LAN try using a VPN to your network with wireguard (wg-easy is nice) or tailscale (there are others as well).
If it's using a domain/subdomain make sure you use secure usernames and passwords, or things like authentik, authelia and the like to buff up security.
the dev of kbin will be changing this. so up/downvotes are what affect your reputation. It's just not a priority right now
