This has to be my favorite new Lemmy to scroll past. Thank you for all the work, Flying Squid!
So after yoinking the sky scale mount from guild wars for their dragons, they are now going to yoink the roller beetle too, gotcha
Not that old, but I've been playing some Far Cry 5 recently since it went on decent sale for 14 bucks on steam and I was bored.
I remember being amazed at how good far cry 3 had been all those years ago, and I know that pretty much every far cry since has been a similar game with a different skin and some updated mechanics.
The whole "home grown USA cult" does hit a bit more interesting these days, but I honestly keep finding myself shaking my head because it feels like reality is somehow more ridiculous than this far cry game in that essence.
Game is fine, I am enjoying doing the same shooting over and over as a little mental break . I feel like this game is a real missed opportunity not having a set, voiced protagonist. Choosing your blank, voiceless murder machine makes every cutscene awkward because everyone is just talking at you instead of having actual dialogue or growth.
Goddamn this is beyond wholesome. Hope it goes amazing OP! keep us updated ☺️
This game has tons of issues but I freaking love it. Played it again recently and finished the whole thing. It's great. Don't feel obligated to do EVERY quest, just faction questlines and the main quest. It's a lot of fun.
However then new DLC they added with remastered is fucking terrible. It fucks up so much lore, is incredibly lazy, and just looks like it was made on a true shoestring budget. Not worth playing at all.
Outdoor cats decimate bird populations. Letting your cat out is terrible for your local ecosystem. Seeing this stuff really frustrates me.
I have played last epoch for hundreds of hours as well, and I will say I really enjoy it. It's my go-to ARPG because the skill system feels so damn good. It isn't the mess of nodes that PoE is, and it isn't the very braindead level of skills that Diablo 3 had (haven't played 4 because blizzard). Pretty much every skill has its own skill tree, and you can often make skills cast other skills or find awesome synergies and the game excels at giving you the power to make your own build and have it actually work.
Other notes, the crafting system is absolutely fantastic. You will end up crafting all the time, not just at endgame and it feels so good, and is very easy to understand without being braindead.
Most of the endgame content is great, but it just needs more and extra of it. They have a few dungeons that do different specific things, so you don't necessarily go there to farm, you go there because you want some feature or thing that place has. It's a really fun system.
I will say at 0.9.2 there are still some issues with multiplayer sync, so if you want to wait til 1.0 to play it with bros then understandable. What a fun game IMO though.
Thank you, sounds fantastic. Might try making this myself next week.
I think you have your games backwards lol. 99% of checks in BG3 have no interesting failure states. They almost all lead to combat or less content overall. Whereas disco Elysium actually has tons checks that are enjoyable or interesting to fail.
As far as I know they are the only ones. A lot of the requirements for armor are ridiculous. It's why I ended up using the hylian set + champion leathers the entire game, they were all I was willing to farm to upgrade.
I'm kinda on your side in this. I've tried watching it multiple times and never got into it, I think the imagery is provocative but with the glut of projects it inspired that exist nowadays, I feel like I saw it too late, and it's lack of common features while also being long makes it kinda a non-starter for me.
Don't think I'll ever finish it but I understand why people love it.
Yep. As far as I know there isn't even anything dangerous on it but it's such nightmare energy for me that I will literally run out of the room like a child.
Also, I found that space feels eerily like underwater for me mentally. Fucking terrifying
