my I3 wont respond to config changes (lemmy.world)

i have charged to rofi over dmenu and added polybar to my I3 config and even after a reboot it wont update my changes i have been editing /etc/i3/config and i have done use I3 on other pc and never had it do this

This is most likely where the real config is i3 copies the one from etc to here, should always make any changes here.

Because config of a window manager is on a per user basis, usually

Have a look a the configuration file precedence here. That's probably what's causing the issue
