I haven't followed Soundcloud for a while, but from what I remember it already wasn't doing too well. To me this isn't just the nail in the coffin, but potentially also a last breath money grab. Get some data, and sell it before going down.

Okay, complete shot-in-the-dark prediction here - I expect Newgrounds is gonna see an influx of musicians from this.

I am admittedly biased on this (I'm heavily active on there), but I do have precedent to point to - Tumblr's NSFW ban in late 2018 led to a minor influx of artists in November, followed by a site-crashing influx in December, after the ban was officially announced.

At least they're stating it.

In theory, if it's on the open Web any asshole could train AI on your content.

I only use SC for electronic festival artists.
