Looking for recommendations for a cheap/reliable grocery peddler (kbin.social)

I'm a relatively new mtber and I live about 1.5 miles from my closest grocery store. I'm looking for a cheap option to take my ass up to the store to grab some groceries as I don't want to take my mtb because i don't want to get it stolen and it's just not an efficient ride.

I don't need anything with storage, as I usually just buy enough to put in my backpack. I'm just looking for something reliable and that gets a decent glide per stroke.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Someone I know got a Linus Bike Dutchi 3i awhile back and honestly I wasn't really that stoked at first but -- I was wrong, it's pretty amazing. I've even thought about getting one. At first I thought they were just about the aesthetic but it's the real deal. Just a rock solid basic bike for running errands in town. If you don't mind, or prefer, single speed they have also have a barebones fixie/SS model for less $$.
