Yeah? I though quote-tweet were being used for harassment?? What did I missed?

No, they aren't. Eugene was concerned that was what they would be used for if implemented, but they've been on the fediverse for years on most platforms that aren't mastodon, and even the research on their use on twitter shows they're not really responsible for an increase in harassment.

Any concerns about harassment can also be covered by implementing them properly, making them opt in etc...

Okay, thanks! Assuming it gets added, I hope it sends a message that Fediverse developers are listening to the wishes of people in the Black Twitter diaspora, even if it goes against the traditional stance of the Fediverse developers.

The thing is, it's not "Fediverse developers". It's the mastodon developer. Most fediverse apps have supported quote toots for a long time. Mastodon is the odd one out.
