One month after The Washington Post revealed that the Egyptian government may have illegally given Donald Trump $10 million in 2017, Democrats have announced they will be investigating the allegations.

Democrats on the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, led by ranking member Representative Jamie Raskin, announced in a press release Tuesday that they will be “demanding answers” from the Republican presidential nominee not only over the possible bribe from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, but also over evidence that the Justice Department, led at the time by Attorney General William Barr, covered it up.

Beyond everything else, the fact that Donald Trump made so little money off the White House is staggering to me.

He could have gotten $50 billion from the Saudis on Inauguration Day if he'd had the balls to demand it.

He wouldn't have had to change any policies or make any new laws, just tell them that it was what it was.

Small-time player. Terrible at making deals.

BTW, Trump pretty much gave away the farm to his co-author. Schwartz got full credit and half the profits, unheard of for a ghost writer. Schwartz also left Trump's circle after the book came out and has bad mouthed him ever since.

It wasn't titled "Art of the Great Deal".

Yeah, but he somehow marketed the hell out of it. It was somewhere down in the top 100 of the reading list before college.

I think in the beginning he was testing the waters to see what he could get away with. He got more brazen as he got to the end of his term.

He never went for the big bucks. Think of it this way; $10 million wouldn't buy an apartment in Trump Tower.

Couldn’t pay me $10M to live in a building with that fuck’s name on it. Hope they’ll all ashamed of their address.
