Yup! Tusky for sure, don't know about the other apps. The official app is great but missing many features still. Give Tusky a go if you decide to try Mastodon again!

I bet it is the same reason that I had: can't follow or unfollow tags from official app (or atleast I haven't found a way to do so, please help).

ukraine community over at sopuli is great if you sort by new, just trying to get more traction there in the form of people commenting. Posts for info, comments for fun.

This is possibly in the works I believe. They are currently discussing about the implementation and what additional things it could bring to the table that would make it work even better (for example somehow integrate the idea with Mastodon hashtags).

The link I provided is old, but there is still active discussion and many more contributors, so we could see this happening soon!

To me it all started with bumping into r/minimalism years ago (shoutout to !minimalism@lemmy.world, the migrated r/minimalism) and reading books about it.

I noticed that with minimalism came simple living, enjoying the small things in life. I often feel like they are interconnected due to this, but this could just be my experience.

How many others had a similar experiences, or did something else bring you here? Also welcome experiences about directly searching for simple living topics and bumping into this community (originally on reddit).

Lemmy has been running for 4 years (don't know how long they developed it before releasing the first beta), Kbin barely for 2 months. Just putting that out there! Love both though.

I personally liked the gold-silver awards, but felt like adding million award options really cluttered the UI. But I agree it's a great way to get some money for server hosting.

Don't know if you mean that profile pictures hiding should be a magazine specific setting, but you personally can hide profile pictures (and magazine logos) in your side bar settings.

Isn't that what the "Federation On | Off" setting basically does?

On your sidebar, next to the settings gear there is the connection-icon and you can turn off federation so that you only see magazines and content only from your local instance.

Hey thanks for the tip! I also felt like fediverse was being suppressed by google, but wasn't sure whether thats the case or does google just need time to properly index these sites.

Eikä tarvitse edes olla lemmyn puolelle, itse olen kbinillä ja kommentoin täältä. Fediverse ❤️

I'm quite new to the fediverse, and noticed that on kbin you can actually see who downvoted a post or a a comment (and not only your own posts and comments), by clicking on the "activity" button.

My question is, how does this translate to Mastadon? I haven't seen a "reduce" button and was wondering if it is the same as "block" or "mute" on Mastodon?

Please go comment there, so others might possibly find communities to grow :)

Lets make a thread to post our niches that we have found here. Big magazines are ok too.

I'll start: /m/mechanicalkeyboards, so glad it migrated here!

Edit: You can add a direct fediverse link (so that any users from any fediverse instance looking at this post can click on it) with the following two methods:

Click on the "link" button in the text editor, or manually write in the following format (all together):

[ /m/mechanicalkeyboards ] ( https://kbin.social/m/mechanicalkeyboards )

OR (all together):

@ mechanicalkeyboards @ kbin.social

Edit 2: magazine / community names are case-sensitive apparently, mind the uppercase letters!

CROSSPOST to a helpful beginners guide to Kbin (the link takes you to a different Kbin instance). Sorry if I did this wrong, I have no idea if there is a proper way to crosspost. Please let me know if there is.

I did not know there was already a website for monitoring which subreddits are dark, thanks for the article!
