4 bins: 1 black (general rubbish) 2 blue (recycling) 1 green (garden waste)

Normally we'd have one blue but a neighbour bought an extra, then his kids moved out so they don't need the extra space - and we regularly fill them both, mostly with cardboard packing.

Seriously, who gives a fuck if you've got a number of bins? I'd much rather items go into recycling or compost than landfill. If the council / recycling place isn't doing a great job at their end, that's a) not my fault and b) another matter to deal with.

I bought oodies for the whole family, paid for themselves in a couple of weeks. I had to figure out where the mold point was with the heating (too cold and you get mold) so we still had it on, but it was 3 degrees lower on the thermostat than the previous year. Not everyone can do it, for sure.

I see lots of folks round our way with the windows open on hot days. I've been keeping all the windows closed and blinds down during the day, open it all up in the evening and morning to get the heat right down for the next day, works like a charm. If it does ramp up from this over the next few decades, we're definitely going to have to put the infrastructure in place for the AC load and decent insulation.
