Bummer. I was really hoping to see "Due to popular demand, we have decided to abandon our plans to implement FACEIT's draconian anticheat, and continue to use EAC for official servers in order to support Linux." Oh well, a man can dream.

Guess I won't be purchasing this game anytime soon.

Thanks for posting this. I grabbed it a week or so ago and had no idea that they'd break it for my OS down the line.

Isn't it not even going to be EAC official servers and just EAC community servers?

I believe the official servers are currently running EAC while they are in the process of implementing FACEIT, but I'm not 100% sure.

I stopped following development after they announced they were switching to FACEIT.

This game is absolute class. Playing is like the heyday of DoD type games from years ago. The local voice chat on death is a never ending source of hilarity as is the ability to drag friends and foes who are dead. Well worth a buy.

so I’ve heard good things but is this game actually worth the money?

Yea absolutely. Very reminiscent of the old battlefield games (1942, bf2). Some strategy, a lot of people and a ton of fun.
