I'm not actually sure what the problematic character is - it might have been " " or another special character (obviously I'd rather not reveal my password ๐Ÿ˜‰).

I usually use full, grammatically correct sentences for passwords ("passphrases"). It works in desktop, but in Jeroba if your password has that phrase it won't log you in.

Instead, you'll be listed as "Anonymous" and you won't be able to take any action other than switch to a different account or sign out. It took me to my home instance, but I couldn't actually do anything.

After changing my password to a more "traditional" one, everything worked fine.

I did a quick peak at the code for the jeroba app. The only thing that stands out is that there is a trim() method call on the password field before submit. If your passphrase contained leading or trailing whitespace that could be the cause.

Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
