In my experience, everything else on thinkpads can and will be abused by my users but the trackpoint is one thing I've never had to replace. Most of my new hires don't even know what it does.

I always preferred the nipple mouse as i called it. I see you have named it something else.

I always called it a nubbin

[-] Decoy321@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Clitmouse was always my favorite

On older models, sometimes the nipple is hard due to the age. It generally still functions, but a replacement just feels better to use

Is that Windows or just something that looks similar? I don't see a Windows icon on the taskbar.

[-] Technofrood@feddit.uk 8 points 1 year ago

It's KDE, so some Linux distro.

[-] JackGreenEarth@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Wow, the right side of the KDE taskbar looks almost exactly like Windows.

I think they rearranged some things that make it more windows like. I’m not sure if it looks like that by default.

[-] sveske_juice@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

You can indeed make it look almost exactly like windows

[-] FireWire400@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I'm using the express card slot blank for that exact purpose
