I wonder what the issues of standing are in a case like this. I mean if it were up to me it would be the entire populous of the United States against trump.

My (entirely uninformed) belief is that any citizen would have standing since the insurrection would have affected (injured) every person who would have chosen a leader by vote.

I highly doubt it’ll work, if for no reason other than the fact that our legal system is too slow (though there are many other reasons too).

However, if it did work, it would be massive, because it’s Florida. He would have almost no path to the White House without that state.

This is made news to divert the narrative away from all the felonies.

What? You think a lawyer is suing to keep Trump off the ballot to…help him win?

[-] Chetzemoka@kbin.social 14 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it seems pretty apparent that the reason this lawsuit coincides with the GA indictment is because the GA charges are the clearest violation of the 14th Amendment and therefore the strongest argument to make in court. That lawsuit happened so fast that someone clearly had it prepared and was only waiting for the GA indictments. No conspiracy here.

OK, thanks for explaining. I'm glad to be wrong.

Meanwhile red states will be taking Biden off the ballot because he too once wore a tan suit and that's just like insurrection.
