I was wondering how we should go about creating icons for communities?

There's a case against using an artist's image and cropping it without their permission.

On the other paw it'll difficult to find free icon packs that specialize in yiff. Maybe RPG gamedev asset icons?

We could allow the use for AI images for icons only?

What do you think?

I think if the ai pictures are sufficiently abstract it doesn't hurt to use it at all.

I can make one. Better yet, host a mini contest and shout the winning icon. Credit in the sidebar is pretty sick exposure (imo) I've seen a few communities do this

Follow up for the love of God don't allow ai icons. It still uses stolen art to generate. It'd literally be better to use an artwork with credit and no permission

AI generated images technically are not copyrightable in most countries. So it is free game when it comes to that. ┐(‘~` )┌

Which will be fine for those that want it or are not artistically inclined. No insults intended by that statement! (((><)))

I plan to update my communities icon with my own art here soon.( ̄ω ̄;)

But if people want AI art icons for consistency sake instance wide, then that will be fine too. (─‿‿─)
