Added the jsaux backplate and stuck a 40mm heat sink on the plate to help with passive cooling, not sure how much it helps but the fan is quieter so I’m happy with it!

Did you do any testing with just the jsaux backplate, does it actually help the fan noise at all? Or did the heat sink help the most?

Formal testing no, I could tell the case plate would get hot and my understanding is when the thermal mass stabilizes at a temp the fan would run as normal, so this adds a bit more mass but in a way that’s easier for the heat to passively dissipate
