Not everyone can just leave. For example in my state if you have joint custody you can't leave the state with your kids without your ex's written permission.

Yeah, while a gun might protect you from a violent individual in the right circumstances, it does nothing to actually protect your rights beyond that.

A gun can't get you medication if a doctor is forbid by law to treat you, a gun doesn't allow you to cast a vote and have it counted, a gun can't stop them classifying you as a sexual predator etc.

Guns are actually mostly useless, even at keeping you truly safe.
