That one dude at the end is a broken man. Probably mentally and physically.
That take is ignorant of psychology, sociology, and history. Far too much wrong with it for me to even begin breaking it down here, so I'll just leave with this:
You can want Ukraine to win, celebrate their victories, but dehumanizing soldiers in a war that you're life and safety isn't directly tied to, is bad for your own mental health and moral character.
The only exception is if you're Ukrainian. Not because it invalidates any of the underlying truths, but because dehumanizing your direct enemy can be a helpful psychological coping mechanism when you're actually fighting a war, I get that.
@circuscritic @chowderman Dear balanced Canadian friend of nuanced critique: Noone dehumanises them. They are legit and legitimate aggressors in a foreign land. Do you know your countries history fighting my ancestors? I thank God every day that you gave us the chance to get back to humanity after auschwitz. But every Wehrmacht soldier on foreign land of my forefathers was Guilty. Russia is cancer. It must end. Like nazi Germany. Like Arthur Harris did. No pity. #DestroyRussiaOnceAndForAll
I'm just pointing that out. I have zero sympathy for them.
