"All Blacks" is New Zealand's national team and one of the best in the world.
It's because their uniforms are solid black.
I didn't know there was an "All Whites" team, but it seems like they just copied the name to build off their renown.
It's been their name for as long as I can remember... I can imagine it sounds weird for people not from NZ, but it's pretty normal to us!
My favourite is that how it's so normal for us, that for a while the badminton team was known as the Black Cocks and somehow this happened without anyone thinking it was a bad idea.
Yes, most of the sports team names are built off this.
